This car was brought locally by the current owner, previous to this it had been stored in a barn for 16 years. The paint and bodywork has remained untouched since it was first stored all those years ago.
Amazingly the only welding required were some small repairs to the drivers flood pan and the boot area. The brakes have been refurbished throughout and the exhaust replaced.
Although this car wears an L registration plate (1972), it came off the production line in July 1971. Therefore making it an early mk III example and still has the starter button pressing in the floor pan.
Originally an 848cc it was converted in the late '70s / early '80s to a 998cc, this enabled it to keep up with the flow of modern traffic.
The owner is trying to keep the car as a '70s retro Mini with the addition of period features such as the wheels, dashboard and seats. |
